Creusabro®

Creusabro® steels were developed with an innovative concept that combines ease of manufacturing parts with increased hardness under working conditions, through oil tempering that reduces the fragility of the microstructure and provides homogeneity of hardness from the surface to the core.

This gain is due to a characteristic called the TRIP Effect (Transformation Induced by Plasticity), which is the transformation of the microstructure through the absorption of energy, initially composed mostly of Martensite, but retaining Austenite. When impacted, the Austenite retained in the material transforms into physical Martensite, increasing hardness under working conditions.

In this way, it is possible to bend, roll and drill the material without great difficulty and, during operation, the material can have a performance up to 80% greater than equivalent materials tempered in water.

It is a material indicated for bases and wear plates in equipment subject to high abrasion and erosion at higher temperatures, in the range of 500ºC. Unlike other materials, Creusabro maintains hardness and mechanical resistance at temperatures in this range.
